Another Fun Field Trip

In October we saw a Sky Show at a local nature center planeterium . Sissy's entire Science year is Astronomy this year, so it was a well-timed trip .... and I didn't even plan it.

My sweet friend Linda, who has 5 children, therefore WAY more on her plate than me, somehow manages to organize field trips for our homeschool support group. Not only that, SHE remembers to remind ME about these trips. She's so awesome.

So thanks in part to her, we had a great time at a children's science museum today. I'm so glad she plans these trips on Fridays. We have a loose rule about Fridays being Fun Days.

Not that every day can't be fun, but on Fridays I try to make it a POINT to have fun in school, especially if we've been hitting the books diligently the rest of the week. I still cover the subjects with the girls, but on Fridays we might play a Math game, or play store with their cash register instead of using the book; we're more likely to do a craft on Friday, etc. These field trips have fit in very nicely with our "fun Friday" schedule.
